Drivers parking on the street in central Warsaw pay into the Strefa Płatnego Parkowania Niestrzeżonego (SPPN) - the Paid Unattended Parking Zone run by the city’s road authority, ZDM.

When you pay

The zone operates on working days, Monday to Friday, 8:00-20:00. Parking is free outside those hours and all weekend, as well as on 2 May, 24 December and 31 December. Parking meters accept payments around the clock, and money paid during free hours rolls forward to the next chargeable day - so a driver arriving on Sunday night can pay at the meter immediately and the fee counts from 8:00 on Monday.

How much it costs

Rates are charged per hour and add up: 4.50 zł for the first hour, 5.40 zł for the second, 6.40 zł for the third, and 4.50 zł for every hour after that. Three hours cost 16.30 zł. The minimum payment is 0.50 zł, covering ten minutes, and shorter-than-an-hour periods are allowed above that minimum. Pay immediately after parking.

How to pay

Either at a parking meter (parkomat) or in one of five mobile apps: AnyPark, CityParkApp, Flowbird, moBILET and SkyCash Parking. Apps require an account with a payment card or a topped-up balance; moBILET and SkyCash also support SMS and IVR payments for registered users. You do not need to leave anything behind the windscreen - enforcement cars and foot patrols scan licence plates. Note that private car parks in the city have their own prices and rules; ZDM’s rates apply only to the municipal zone.
