Wilanów Palace, the baroque residence of King Jan III Sobieski at the southern edge of Warsaw, is the city's most beautiful survivor of the 17th century - it came through both world wars and the Swedish deluge era with its fabric largely intact. Here is how to visit, based on the museum's official visitor information.

Opening hours

The palace is open daily 10:00-16:00, with last entry at 15:00. The ticket office works 9:00-15:00. The park currently opens 9:00-16:00 (last entry 15:30) in the season running 17 October - 31 December 2026. Both the palace and the park are closed on 1 November 2026, and the palace shuts for winter from 21 December 2026 to 31 January 2027. The palace courtyard is free to enter at any time.

The discounts are generous: under the national Museum for 1 zloty scheme, visitors aged 8-26 pay 1 zł, and children under 8 enter free. Holders of the Polish Large Family Card pay 45/22.50 zł for the palace. Students, seniors over 65 and pensioners from EU and EFTA countries qualify for the reduced rate.

Free Thursdays

On Thursdays, admission to the palace, historic gardens and park is free. Free tickets are collected at the museum ticket office, and palace entry is limited for conservation reasons - arrive early on fine days. Garden and park tickets on Thursdays are unlimited.

What to see and how to get there

Currently open to visitors: the Royal Apartments, the White Hall, the Grand Vestibule, the Paintings Gallery, the former Sobieski family rooms on the upper floor and the Potocki collecting exhibition. The museum is at Stanisława Kostki Potockiego 10/16 in Wilanów; the safest way to buy tickets is the museum's own online system - it does not sell through third-party operators.
