Praga has no shortage of post-industrial charm, but Centrum Praskie Koneser is its showpiece. The five-hectare complex between Zabkowska, Nieporecka, Bialostocka and Markowska streets was the Warsaw Vodka Distillery - a neo-Gothic factory complex built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, where flagship Polish vodkas Wyborowa and Luksusowa were once produced.

What is there now

After a full revitalisation, the restored buildings and the modern Koneser Passage house restaurants and bars, shops and services, cultural venues and event spaces, plus apartments, offices, the Moxy Warsaw Praga hotel and the only Google for Startups Campus in Central and Eastern Europe. The centre describes itself as the most frequently awarded mixed-use development in Poland, and its public square hosts events through the year.

The vodka connection

The heritage is not just decorative: the Polish Vodka Museum occupies the historic rectification building inside the complex, and several bars in the quarter lean into the distilling past.

Visiting

Koneser sits a short walk from the Museum of Warsaw Praga and the Zabkowska street bars; the Dworzec Wilenski metro station on line M2 is the easiest approach. Walking the quarter is free; individual venues keep their own hours.
