Praga kept its pre-war streets when the left bank lost everything, and its museum makes the most of that. The Museum of Warsaw Praga, a branch of the Museum of Warsaw at Targowa 50/52, occupies a complex of historic tenements a few steps from the Zabkowska street life and the Rozycki Bazaar area. The museum describes Praga as a district with a character apart - and builds its story with the local community.

Tenements and prayer rooms

Among the buildings is one of the few preserved Jewish prayer rooms in Warsaw, a survival of the pre-war community of the right bank, alongside the core exhibition on the history and culture of Praga. Temporary exhibitions and a busy events programme run alongside.

Opening hours and tickets

According to the museum, it is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00-17:00, Thursday 11:00-20:00, and Saturday-Sunday 10:00-18:00. Thursdays are free, which conveniently coincides with the late opening. Tickets are available online and at the desk.

Visiting

Targowa 50/52 sits by the Dworzec Wilenski metro station on line M2, an easy hop from the centre. Pair the museum with a walk through the district - our Praga Polnoc guide covers the streets, and the Neon Museum is a short ride south.
