A Warsaw winter tradition is pausing. The Royal Garden of Light at Wilanow Palace will not open this autumn - the first break since 2012, after 14 seasons of light installations in the royal gardens.

Why the pause

In an official statement, the museum's directors say the decision comes from a need to review experience and changing audience expectations. The time will be used to prepare a new concept for the exhibition - modern and engaging, but in harmony with the historic residence. The statement stresses the pause is not the end of the story but the start of work on its next chapter.

What happens instead

The museum promises winter attractions regardless: on 28-29 November 2026 it will hold its first Advent Fair (Jarmark Adwentowy) in the museum Orangery, opening the pre-Christmas season.
