Two days is enough for Warsaw's essentials if you split the city by its geography: the historic spine on day one, the river and the right bank on day two. Every stop below links to our verified guide.

Day 1: The historic spine

Start at Castle Square and walk the Old Town to the Barbican, then visit the Royal Castle when doors open. Follow the Royal Route down Krakowskie Przedmieście - the Chopin trail runs along it - to the Saxon Garden or straight on to Łazienki Park for the afternoon. Finish with sunset from a viewpoint or the Palace of Culture terrace.

Day 2: Museums and the right bank

Pick your morning museum: the Warsaw Uprising Museum, POLIN or the National Museum. Cross the river for lunch in Praga Północ - the Koneser complex and Praga Museum are neighbours - then walk the Vistula beaches or the boulevards back toward the centre. Evening: a concert at the Philharmonic or a live music club.

Practical notes

Everything above connects by metro, tram and bus or a Veturilo bike. Short on time? Our one-day itinerary compresses day one.
